BHRW is Springing Into Action!

 What has been happening lately?

•Region 1 District Meeting was held March 22nd at Langdon Farms Golf Club (BHRW is one of the five     Republican Women Clubs in our region). Special speaker Holly Horn, Director of the Leadership Institute, was excellent and will also speak at our fall meeting, which you will definitely want to attend! Information will be forthcoming.

•At our April 1st Board Meeting a new website online program was unanimously approved. Give us     your feedback! Communications Chair Christina Buehler can answer your questions, coach you through any issues, and make any necessary changes.

 • OFRW Spring Meeting in Salem, April 3 & 4:

April 3rd Legislative Day consisted of meeting with legislators, observing opening ceremonies in the House Chamber, visiting the Senate Chamber, a brief tour and having a group photo.

At the Board of Director’s Meeting on April 4th BHRW provided a speaker from one of our     charities as the “Care For America” report. We chose Union Gospel Mission LifeChange for Women and Their Children, and Luke Cirillo, Director of Advancement for UGM spoke about their work and the new center. Come to our Membership meeting April 17th to learn more!

 What’s coming that you’ll want to know about?

•April Membership Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 17th at the Old Spaghetti Factory in   Tanasbourne. Chris Gray from the Taxpayer Association, who is also the newly elected Vice Chair of the Young Republicans of Oregon, will be speaking on the many tax bills and highlighting the newly released Transportation Package. Come learn what’s in it, and remember to RSVP before the deadline of 12 NOON on Tuesday, April 15th!

 •Our Education Committee has received essays from four Middle School students who have   written essays competing for a $500 scholarship, which will be awarded to the students or their parents. Hear more about the purpose, goals and award at our meeting on the 17th.

 •May 3rd our neighbor club in East Clackamas will be having their Third Annual Kentucky Derby Party at Langdon Farms Golf Club, beginning at 2:30, with Race Time at 3:57. Dress for a party, be sure to wear your Derby hat and have a great time! See the flyer on reverse for information.

 •June 14th at 5pm the Washington County GOP will be hosting a fundraiser with country singer Trey Taylor at the Dauntless Wine Company, Old 47 Estate 6505 , SW Old Hwy 47, Gaston to “Celebrate America”! Tickets can be purchased HERE

 September 18th BHRW is hosting a fundraiser at the Stockpot Broiler Restaurant with a theme of “We The People”, since September 17-23 is commemorated annually as Constitution Week. You will be hearing much more about this patriotic gathering!

 •NFRW, The National Federation of Republican Women, will be having their Biennial Convention September 25-28 in Orlando, Florida. More information will be forthcoming in the summer.
