January Presidents Message
The time between Christmas and the New Year is often a time of reflection on the past and considering changes for the turning of the calendar. The past year for BHRW brought many things:
* Several local and state candidates
* A successful Candidate Dinner & BHRW Fundraiser
*Educational presentations on various measures on the ballot and social issues (Education, Don’t Mess With Our Kids, Saving women’s sports, etc.)
* A new source of local information to glean from (Oregon Citizen Cindy Fincher)
* Helping local charities and members of our military.
What will the coming year bring? There is always much to learn and directions for us to grow, intellectually, relationally and in our political influence. We will begin the year with a presentation on what’s going on with the capitol building physically, and there will be opportunities for more connections with the legislature and what is going on politically. Citizen activism can make a difference, and our Republican friends need support and encouragement to enable them to stand strong.
What are some things that you’re looking for in BHRW? What are your interests and skills? Everyone has a part to play and there is a spot for you to connect. Perhaps you would like to organize or just enjoy a few informal social gatherings. Your input and participation in committees that interest you can also help to build connections and friendships with one another, as well as benefit our group – these things are an important part of any organization. YOU are an important part of our organization! Have a conversation and ask questions of anyone on the leadership team and we’ll help you find your spot.
May you have a very Happy New Year filled with joy, new connections and new experiences, in BHRW and beyond!
