May President Message
May President’s Message
May is a beautiful, busy month, filled with gardening, meetings, gathering with friends and enjoying your favorite activities. Speaking of activities, we have some interesting, important , and fun activities for you to consider!
Are you interested in learning more about our Washington County District Attorney, Kevin Barton, meeting him in person and asking him questions? He will be our next BHRW speaker!

Be sure to come to our May Membership Meeting on Thursday, May 15 at the Old Spaghetti Factory! Your link to RSVP and purchase your lunch is here. Please RSVP before Noon on 5/13!
Are you interested in attending the next Biennial Convention of the National Federation of Republican Women, which will be held in Orlando, Florida September 25-28? At our May meeting you will have an opportunity to “put your name in the hat” to be elected to be a Delegate or an Alternate Delegate when you attend! Any of our members may attend this convention, but a Delegate would be able to vote on whatever business will be brought forth there – perhaps deciding on bylaws changes, important public issues, or electing officer(s). If you have joined BHRW and paid your dues, you are already a member of NFRW, and here are some reasons you may want to attend - you could:
· TRAIN for leadership roles in government, politics, business and community by attending a variety of educational seminars and programs;
· PREPARE for upcoming elections by hearing from Republican candidates, leaders, elected officials and political experts;
· RECOGNIZE distinguished leadership and service within the NFRW;
· NETWORK with women from across the country;
· COMMEMORATE milestones, anniversaries and other important events;
· PLAN the future of the Federation and CONDUCT Federation business
Registration information will be released during the summer, but we need to send our election results to the President of OFRW in June, to be forwarded to NFRW before June 27. For more information, go to the NFRW website and click on Events.

Here’s another event worth considering – the Washington County GOP is having a celebration to honor Flag Day, President Trump’s Birthday, and the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Army. Up-and-coming country music star Trey Taylor will be present and giving a concert, and our own Jason Fields has not only run for State Representative, but he is also a talented singer! This is a great way to celebrate several patriotic special days with fun and food.. To find out more and buy tickets (which includes tasty food) just go to the Washington County website.

This is a perfect time to celebrate our nation, as next year will be America’s 250th Anniversary! Another way to celebrate our patriotism will be our own BHRW Fundraising Dinner on September 18th so save the date! Our theme this year will be “We the People”, as our dinner will be held during Constitution Week. This will be a great time to celebration our Constitution, our freedoms and have some fun together at the Stockpot Broiler Restaurant. We will have a delicious dinner, wine for sale, gift baskets, our favorite delicious Dessert Dash and more. In fact, preparations have begun and the chair of our planning committee, Sharon Arends, is asking us to begin bringing our donations to our membership meetings: gift cards, or sign up to commit to bring a basket to be auctioned off or a yummy dessert for the Dessert Dash.

We will have a grand time together!
